We're delighted to announce that Peter Keeling has recently been appointed in the new and exciting role of our Policy & Development Manager.
Peter joins the APA from Collective Voice where he spent three years working with stakeholders across the addictions field, first as Campaigns Officer and, more recently, Senior Policy Officer. During this time he played a crucial role in shaping Collective Voice’s policy work around the launch and implementation of the government Drug Strategy. Peter was also instrumental in developing collaborative projects on issues including benzodiazepine use, Tier 4 services and drug-related deaths.
Peter also has a background in the human rights & criminal justice sectors. Prior to Collective Voice, Peter began his career in the international human rights field at Penal Reform International before spending five years at the Criminal Justice Alliance working with its diverse membership of charities to address some of the most intransigent issues in the criminal justice system, from reducing the unfair use of stop and search to embedding restorative practices and tackling prison overcrowding.
We look forward to welcoming Peter to the NHS APA, where he will undoubtedly have a positive influence on our work, promoting engagement across the system and helping us to enable better outcomes for those who experience or are affected by drug, alcohol, or gambling dependency.
